Yesterday’s statements by the actor Yiannis Bezos regarding old acquaintances with whom contact is interrupted have gone viral on Greek social media, citing as an example a reunion that, as he said, he regretted going to.
“Have you stopped hanging out with people you don’t have anything to say anymore?” they asked him on ERT’s “Studio 4” show, with Yannis Bezos answering: “Yes, I don’t dislike them, I have nothing against them. I just don’t have anything to share anymore.”
“Does that change over the years?”
“It changes over the years because they go up experiences and your requirements begin and they are different now. And I think we should do that, which is to not be afraid. People are not upset. It is better for the other person to be upset, than to carry it like a burden. It becomes like a nail in the head and follows you (…) Pretending to be happy can drive me crazy,” he said.
“I once went to a reunion and almost killed myself, because I found that all the old fools stayed dumb, all the fools got worse. I didn’t see any improvement” he declared, causing laughter from behind the cameras that reached up to the microphones and with the presenters trying to hide their smiles.
“I was so disappointed that I don’t want to see anyone again. I have nothing to say. I see that people do not change so easily. Let’s remember the old days, he says. Why should we remember them? I don’t want to remember anything old, I want to move forward. Don’t sit down and remember the old days. They weren’t even interested. They were only of interest when we were young.”
