King Charles is to return to public duties after responding positively to cancer treatment, it was announced on Friday.
The British monarch had revealed in February that he was suffering from cancer (although he did not say which type) and that he was receiving outpatient treatment.
For this reason he suspended his public duties, but continued to work from his office.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: “His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain optimistic about the King’s continued recovery.
“His Majesty’s treatment program will continue, but doctors are sufficiently satisfied with the progress made so far that the king is now able to resume a number of public duties.”
Meanwhile the palace released a new photo of the king and queen, which was taken at Buckingham Palace on April 10, the day after their 19th wedding anniversary.
The royal couple will visit a cancer treatment center on Tuesday.
