The countdown to Eurovision it has started and the interest is great…

The big moment for fans of the institution is approaching and Eurovision is coming, this year, to Malmö with two semi-finals on May 7 and 9 and a final on May 11.

Thirty-seven countries will participate, with Luxembourg returning 31 years after its last appearance in 1993, while Romania opted out. Israel’s inclusion among the participants in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war has been met with criticism, with protests and calls for its removal prompting organizers to beef up security measures in place for the event.

Our very own Marina Satti will compete in the second semi-final with ‘ZARI’ composed by Marina Satti, OGE, Kay Be, Nick Kodonas, Jay Stolar, Gino The Ghost and Jordan Palmer, with lyrics by VLOSPA, OGE, Marina Satti and Solmeister. The video clip was directed by the Australian Zac Wiesel. The creative director of Marina Satti’s appearance on the Eurovision stage is Fokas Evangelinos, the choreography and movement direction has been undertaken by Mecnun Giasar (Majnoon), while the art direction is NMR, people with parchments and a special path.

The interest, of course, turns to the bets that – until now at least and before the live songs are presented in the two semi-finals – set specific persons as favorites. Switzerland, which will be represented by Nemo with the song “The Code”, has risen to first place in recent weeks. The artist and track were chosen from over 400, with the 25-year-old rapper and musician considered extremely well known in his country. “It is an incredible honor to be able to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest. This platform offers a huge opportunity to build bridges between different cultures and generations”, he has stated about his participation.

Croatia has fallen from first to second place. The song ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ performed by Baby Lasagna conveys a social message by drawing attention to the social and spiritual challenges and anguish experienced by every person who leaves their place in search of better opportunities.

The 26-year-old eccentric artist Joost Klein of the Netherlands continues to rise. “Europapa”, in just one day after its release, managed to attract over 1 million streams on Spotify in the Netherlands, breaking a record held by the Dutch representative at Eurovision 2019, Duncan Lawrence. As the artist himself stated, the piece is a mixture of melancholy and happiness of a man who, despite the obstacles he faced, did not give up and kept trying to succeed. “‘Europapa’ refers to a child who has lost their parents and travels across Europe to find himself and tell his story,” he admitted.

Italy, Ukraine, France and Israel complete the top seven, while Marina Satti and Greece are in the 8ththe position, at this time. Certainly the stage presence will play an important role for us to go even higher on the night of the final. Our qualification is taken for granted and anything else will be a surprise.
