Girac is in serious condition at a hospital in Bordeaux and authorities say he is out of danger.
Police were called at about 05:30 local time to the resort of Biscarrosse, about 50 kilometers from Bordeaux. Local media, citing police sources, spoke of mishandling of a firearm by Girac himself.

The 27-year-old Kendji Mailleas his real name is, was introduced to the public in 2013, after covering a song by the rapper Gims, and the following year he won the “The Voice France“.
