At the negotiating table, Mega dropped a proposal that foreshadowed “no”: dramatic change in economic conditions with a pay cut reportedly exceeding 50%, as well as a change in hours, from noon to the morning zone. These conditions displeased El. Menegaki, who, according to the information, last Monday asked to speak with the ownership of the station, a request which was not listened to.
The final discussion, like all the previous negotiations of El. Menegaki, it was done with management officials. The presenter refused the proposal with the specific conditions, while there was no counter proposal. Mega conveyed to her the decision to proceed with another strategic plan, which does not include the show “Elene”, thus definitively closing the negotiation and sealing the end of the collaboration, which was more reminiscent of a pre-announced divorce.
Since the beginning of the season, there has been intense dissension, with changes in the duration of the show and postponement of discussions. Some strong commercial deals brought by the presenter during the season changed the climate shortly after Christmas, with Mega, however, holding… a small basket. The aim of the station is to proceed with a restructuring and reshaping of the program, testing another “recipe” in the morning and noon zones.
After the upcoming end of the cooperation with Mega, El. Menegaki is now “coming out” freely in the television market. SKAI is reportedly showing interest in possible collaboration with the presenter. Faliro’s channel will have an entertainment slot at 2:50 and until 5 that could be covered by El. Menegaki. By the time these lines were being written, however, no meeting had taken place between the two sides. The well-known presenter is reportedly entering the… radar of another station, which has not yet made a move.
The next day at Mega
The final ending to the “thriller” Menegaki paves the way for the arrival of Faia Skordas. After the end of the “Mega good morning” show, Syngrou’s channel plans to launch new show slots. The morning zone will henceforth have an entertainment show that will start at 9 and end at 12. For this zone, a new morning show is being planned with F. Skorda as the main character, who will be flanked by people who are already on Mega.
Based on this design, Danae Barka, who maintains an active contract with Mega, remains on the weekday schedule but is headed for a shift to the noon slot. The prevailing scenario that is now being considered on the channel “wants” D. Barka to take a position in zone 1 to 4. Between the two entertaining shows of F. Skordas and D. Barka will be the midday newscast at 12.
