Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene appeared together at Monaco’s National Day celebrations, in a move to perhaps quash rumors of a split.
The event is dedicated to the history of the Principality of Monaco, one of the smallest countries in the world, and is celebrated every year on November 19. This particular day is one of the most special of the year for the residents of Monaco, who gather at the harbor to enjoy spectacular fireworks.
The date of Monaco’s ‘Fête Nationale’ is traditionally always chosen by the respective prince, who usually chooses his own name day. However, Prince Albert broke with tradition by choosing to keep the day chosen by his father, November 19, when Saint Rainier is commemorated.
Monaco’s royal family gathered on Sunday morning at St. Nicholas Cathedral for morning service and later, several members of the extended family appeared on the balcony of the Palais du Prince.
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene appeared with their children, eight-year-old twins Gabriella and Jacques. Also in attendance were Princess Caroline of Monaco, her daughters Alexandra of Hanover and Charlotte Casiraghi, and her son Pierre Casiraghi with Beatrice Borromeo, who wore a stunning t-shirt with a Jackie Kennedy skirt, velvet hat and croc bag. Princess Stephanie was also present.
Princess Charlene appeared in a crimson ensemble, a tribute to Monaco’s red and white flag. As usual she wowed, opting for a super stylish coat with a matching dress, gloves and a red beret.
She completed her look with a pair of stunning suede Manolo Blahnik knee high boots. Daughter Gabriella copied her mother’s statement look in a matching coat and hat, but in navy blue, while her husband and son donned traditional royal attire.
The princely family of Monaco in glamorous gala
In her evening appearance at the Monaco National Day Gala, Princess Charlene again chose red, but definitely a brighter ensemble. She wore a sparkling Didierangelo sequin dress and Cartier earrings.

On the other hand, Carolina shone when she appeared in her stunning Chanel gown, which was full of colorful sequins on the top and satin blue skirt, while her daughter, Alexandra of Hanover, opted for a Celine maxi dress. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that Charlene’s brother Sean Wittstock and his wife Sandel were also in attendance.
