Katias Nikolaidou’s brother and her colleagues talk in “Truths with Zina” about her loss at the age of just 58, after a long battle with cancer. “My sister is an angel who left on the day of the angels. She was full of light…” said the brother of the late actress Takis Nikolaidis.

The actress had been fighting cancer again since last May as it had reappeared. Katia Nikolaidou wanted to keep the fact that the disease had returned a secret. The actress lost her beloved father in 2022 and her psychology was very heavy in the last year. Katia Nikolaidou had discovered 20 years ago completely by accident that she had cancer after she felt pain when she went skiing and after tests it was diagnosed that she had cancer in the lymph nodes with metastases in the brain and head. Then he had won and 20 years had passed until the cancer returned in May and for the last time he was being treated in a hospital in Athens.

Next Monday, the funeral of the actress Katia Nikolaidou, who passed away defeated by cancer after multiple battles over the last 20 years, is expected to take place.

As her friend Dimitris Strepkos revealed, her funeral will take place on Monday, however, the manner, place and time have not yet been finalized. At the same time, Dimitris Strepkos revealed that in the last 20 years, Katia Nikolaidou did not stop fighting cancer since it reappeared and then subsided after treatments.

He said that in 2021 the cancer had come back and went away with treatment but in 2022 it came back after great sadness after the actress faced the death of her father. In recent years she herself lived in Brussels but in 2022 she had returned to Greece for a wedding but on the same day her father died and since then she continued to live in Greece. The disease returned in May 2023 and from then until her death she was hospitalized.

Also Giorgos Partsalakis and Tasos Chalkias, talking about the death of Katia Nikolaidou in “Proino”, burst into tears.

The three actors worked together in the series “I’ll See You on the Ship”, which aired on Alpha in the 2000-2002 seasons.

Initially, Giorgos Partsalakis stated: “I was really shocked because we worked together on a series that we had a great time. A series where people loved it. A bright, optimistic, tender, kind, talented girl. We really had a very nice relationship.”

He then added emotionally: “I really loved her. May this love accompany her on this journey she is making. Well done there because she went through a lot, but she went through it gracefully, with dignity, with tremendous strength and I really admired her for all that she went through. Katya my sweet, have a nice trip my beauty. She was like my daughter, really and outside of work when two people are gentlemen and ladies, because she was a lady, an awesome kind kid and talented and… I’m very moved, I’m very bitter. Why would God make such mistakes and take people at the wrong time? I don’t understand, I don’t understand.”

In turn, Tasos Halkias said: “He was a very beloved creature who will be missed by the entire theater. There is no one to say anything negative about Katia Nikolaidou. She was dignified, courageous, hardworking, beautiful… but from a very early age she began to suffer from this disease and it was time for her to go.”

And then she burst into tears and said: “Have a good trip, I bid her farewell from the bottom of my soul. And I wish there to the unknown to find something better than here…”.
