He died at the age of only 50 actor Tyler Christopherknown for his participation in the well-known television series “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives”.
Christopher’s representative, Chi Muoi Lo, told the CNNi that the actor died on Tuesday morning.
“The news was very shocking and I am devastated by his loss. He was a very talented actor and most importantly an amazing friend. My heart goes out to his friends and family, who loved him so much,” his representative said in a statement.
Actor Maurice Bernard, Christopher’s “General Hospital” co-star, wrote on Tuesday:
“Tyler was truly a gifted creature, lighting up the screen and the stage every time he played a role. With his acting he brought great joy to his loyal fans. Tyler was a sweet soul and a wonderful person to all who knew him.”
In 2008, Christopher married the ESPN reporter Brienne Pendigowith whom she had two children.
In accordance with Peoplethe couple divorced in 2021.
Christopher was also married to her Eva Logoria from 2002 to 2004.
Christopher was best known for portraying the character of Nicolas Cassadine in “General Hospital“, making sporadic appearances in the series from 1996 to 2016.
In a 2017 interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor stated that he left the series to get “personal permission” and then never came back.
In 2018 it appeared for the first time in “Days of Our Lives” as Stefan DiMera, a role for which he was also nominated for an Emmy Award.
Towards the end of his life, Mr Christopher fell into the bathtub of his home and was seriously injured in head.
“Tyler has been fighting battles for better mental health and dealing with addictions and has been open about his struggles with bipolar disorder and his alcohol consumption,” Bernard wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
