In the memoirs that released in Greece under the title Rezerva by Pedio publicationsThe prince harry sheds light on its opposite Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton ahead of their 2018 wedding which involved bridesmaid Princess Charlotte’s dress.
The Duke of Sussex insists the row was started by Kate, who was reportedly annoyed that Meghan had not responded to her immediately about a matter about the dress of her bridesmaid, Princess Charlotte.
Kate claimed that Charlotte “cried when she tried on the dress at home”, but she was reluctant to visit Meghan’s designer, who was available to make any changes to the dresses while the Duchess of Sussex was busy publicly feuding with her father Thomas Markle.
Harry writes that Meghan received a text from Kate four days before the wedding saying the dresses needed alterations as they had been hand made from measurements only without a rehearsal.
“Meg didn’t answer Kate right away,” says Harry. “Yes, she had endless issues about the wedding, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our dressmaker was next door.”
He continues, writing that Kate complained:
“Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home.”
Megan then replied: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been here since 8am. Can you get Charlotte to fix it like the other mums do?”
Harry claims Kate replied: “No, all dresses have to be made from scratch”adding that she had spoken to her “own wedding planner” who had agreed with her.
“Meg asked if Kate knew what was happening to her at the time”Harry writes.
“With her father. Kate said she knew well, but the dresses… and the wedding was in four days!”
He also claims that Kate had “problems with the way Meg planned her wedding”.
The Duke writes that his wife replied: “I don’t know what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit her, please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day.”
To which Kate is said to have simply replied: “Good”.
Harry says he got home shortly after the conversation, where he found Megan “on the floor sobbing”. He says that while he was “horrified” to see her so upset, he told her that “Kate had no bad intentions.”
This was supposedly proven when the Princess of Wales visited the couple the next morning with flowers and a sorry card.
There have been several versions of events surrounding this feud between Meghan and Kate, with claims stating that in fact megan was the one who made kate cry.
The suggestion prompted the Sussexes to ask their press office for a correction, but it was rejected, with officials saying it would spark more questions about the incident and set a precedent of making statements about private matters, which they did not. do they ever
