The essential issues that “burn” the sector are recorded by the president of F.S. Larisa
The president of the F.S. comments on the delay in the execution of prescriptions due to waiting for the law that would extend their validity. Thanos Koutsoukis of Larisa, stressing that “the entire industry has been held hostage for several days” and that together with the pharmacists, thousands of patients waiting to be served have also suffered. “When it takes more than half a month to find a solution for such a simple process, how much time does it take to solve other more serious and important issues?” the health system in general which is: high operating costs, over-taxation, unresolved industry issues, drug shortages, smooth running of the pharmacy and ensuring a sustainable operation in the future.
At the same time, as he comments, it doesn’t exist political will for the following: “the abolition of the rebate, which is an unfairly additional tax imposed on our main object, the normalization of the working hours, the return of the police officers, the compensation of the services that we have already been providing for free for so many years and of course for the substantial increase in pharmaceutical expenditure that has stagnated in the years before the memoranda”.
As for the recent introduction of vaccinations within pharmacies, Th. Koutsoukis likens it to the “tactic of handing out mirrors to natives” and explains: “The mirrors also include the legalization of vaccinations (without payment, of course), as well as the compensation for carrying out only the Covid-19 vaccines, by the patient himself and not by the insurance company, which of course at the moment at least do not concern almost anyone. Let the pharmacists take them.”
