The problem with the contract holders of the Municipality of Mandra – Idyllia is resolved, even temporarily, and they return to their services. More specifically, the newly elected Mayor of Mandras – Idyllias Harmodios Drikos, regarding the return of the Covid-19 contract workers to their work, made the following statement.

“After our intervention and cooperation, the Covid-19 contract workers are back to work again! By taking the necessary actions, we managed to get a positive temporary injunction issued by the Athens Court of First Instance in the case of our municipal contractors, which allows them to return to their positions until February 20, 2024. As I have stated in the past, I will always be on your side of the workers and I will support them in practice!”

The protests had stopped on October 25

On October 25, the mobilizations of the workers stopped with the promise that had been given that the margins to remain in their jobs would be used up. Then the Municipality of Mandras – Idyllias announced:

“Today (25/10) the mobilizations of the contracted Covid-19 workers were suspended, after a multi-day constructive dialogue between the administration and the above, in which the efforts to find a final solution with the Ministry of the Interior, the OAED and the competent services were mentioned, due to of the matter arising from the rejection of their application before the civil courts.

After the above suspension, the process of collecting the waste in the Municipal Unit of Mandra began immediately in order to ensure the hygiene and safety of the citizens”.
