She apologizes for a photo with… nude influencers at her official residence in Helsinki

THE Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin apologized today for a photo from a private party she held at her official residence in July, following the uproar over her party last week.

Yesterday, Monday, the prime minister, one of the youngest leaders in the world, tested negative for drugs. She did so to allay concerns following the release last week of video footage showing her sing and dance with Finnish celebrities at another party.

This week, another photo started circulating on social media, showing two well-known female influencers kissing, covering their bare breasts with the words “Finland” (“Finland”) from the Prime Minister’s official residence in Helsinki.

“In my opinion, the photo is inappropriate. I apologize for her. Such photos should not have been taken, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary happened at the gathering,” Marin told reporters, confirming the photo was from her residence.

The 36-year-old Marin, who has not hidden that she enjoys her free time, said that the photo was taken during a private party with friends her following a music festival in July.

“We had a sauna, we swam and we spent time together,” she said, talking about the party at her residence.

Finns have been divided over the prime minister’s behaviour, with some expressing support for the young prime minister who combines a private life with her high-profile career, while others raised questions about whether her judgment could be influenced by activities in during her free time.

Marin, who leads him Social Democratic Party and became the world’s youngest head of government in December 2019, agreed on Friday to undergo a drug test, saying she had never taken drugs and had not seen anyone do so at the party she attended.

Marin told Reuters in January that she and her fellow junior ministers had been targeted with excessive hate speech because of their gender and appearance.
