Athina Economakou and Filippos Michopoulos are separating after ten years together.
Through a joint statement to the media earlier on Friday, both Athina Economakou and Philippos Michopoulos said that after ten years of relationship and six years of marriage, “we are in the unfortunate position of announcing the dissolution of our marriage.”
In the same statement, the actress and the well-known businessman point out that their priority at the moment is their two children, while at the same time they ask for the understanding of the media as they try to protect them from “undue publicity and attention” but also to handle the matter discreetly, avoiding publishing or republishing related news.
It is recalled that the couple got married in 2018 with a religious wedding in Mykonos. In the same year, their son Maximos – Spyros was born and on June 9, 2021 their daughter Sienna – Electra.

“After 10 years together and the birth of our two children, we are in the unpleasant position of announcing the dissolution of our marriage. Our children are what will unite us forever and as loving parents, we will always be by their side with boundless love. Their mental well-being is our priority in this new chapter of our lives, and we ask for your understanding in order to ensure our children’s privacy and protect them from undue publicity and attention,” they initially said in their statement.
“For this reason, we make a strong recommendation to the media to handle this situation with sensitivity and respect and to avoid publishing or republishing related news, in order to protect their mental well-being and the smooth transition of our children to this new reality . Thank you very much in advance for your understanding and willingness to respect this self-evident requirement of ours,” they concluded.
