TThe official trailer for the new movie Atlas has just been released. The film will be shown on Netflix on May 24 and Jennifer Lopez will have her next major role on the streaming platform after the success of the movie “The Mother”.
In Atlas, Lopez plays a researcher who embarks on a mission to capture a robot that escapes from their base. Among other things, the film touches on the limits of artificial intelligence with Lopez’s character being afraid to embrace it until she has no other choice.
The film’s official synopsis reads: Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. When her plans go awry, her only hope to save humanity’s future from artificial intelligence is to trust her.
Directed by (Brad Peyton), written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. The trailer, which also features Shang-Chi actor and Legend of the Ten Rings actor Simu Liu, can be watched below.

A video with more scenes from the film was shared by the singer on her personal Instagram account, writing in the caption: “The weekend, of Memorial Day… ATLAS premieres on @Netflix May 24th.”
