THE journalist and former communications director for Bill Clinton, George Stephanopouloslast weekend presented his new book, which is titled The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisis.

The book launch, held in Los Angeles, was attended by many of his famous friends, including JJ Abrams and Jason Bateman’s wife, Amanda Anka. Among them were two “Friends”, i.e Jennifer Aniston and the Courteney Coxwho posed for the camera with the journalist’s wife and their colleague Ali Wentworth.

Both Aniston and Cox are on good terms with the Stephanopoulos family. A connecting link is not only the common origin of Aniston and Stephanopoulos, but also the famous Friends episode from the show’s first season, which aired thirty years ago.

The episode, titled The One with George Stephanopoulos, takes place in Monica’s apartment, among other places. The three friends, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe, accidentally receive the pizza ordered by Stephanopoulos, who lives across the street from them, and spend a large part of their evening spying on him through the window of the house.

This time he didn’t have to be spied on, and he wasn’t fed dinner, but he was congratulated on the excellent work he did on his new brainchild, which includes stories from the White House Operations Center, from the Clinton era to today, emphasizing the various kinds of crises that the various US administrations have managed.
