After her latest movie, Zendaya got a new perspective – and feel – for tennis. What does he mean when he says tennis is sex?
THE Zendaya appeared at the premiere of her new film, titled Challengers in London. For the first time, she plays a mother, former tennis champion and later coach.
Those who watch the film will see Tashi push Art (played by Mike Feist), her formerly unsuccessful tennis husband, to become a champion.
In her comments about the film, the 27-year-old described this sports romantic drama as “she is incredibly sexy” though as he said “surprisingly no sex scenes».
What exactly does it mean?
“People who have seen the film have already asked me many times about the sex scenes (for example, how I feel on set). I tend to ask ‘which sex scenes’ and they explain to me that they are not talking literally.
You see, we used to say in the movie that tennis is sex. I have a feeling that tennis is used for many things, like desires, passion, pain, anger and frustration.
So I think a lot of people use this way of communicating with each other when they just can’t find the words».
When the Challengers trailer was first released, Zendaya explained that director Luca Guantanamo “he is very good at finding sensuality and desire. You find so much, at a glance. Tension builds and not being released is good sometimes».
