According to his girlfriend, Matthew Perry had ideas for future film projects. And he wanted Zac Efron to play him in a biopic. The two actors have been on good terms since working together in the 2009 comedy ’17 Again’.
Journalist and model Athena Crosby in her statements to People made reference to the film about his life. Matthew Perry revealed last year that he had approached the star of “High School Musical,” a romantic comedy he wrote. Perry had written the role for himself. Along the way he realized the character was 20 years younger. And so she proposed to Zac Efron, who declined.
Asked how he envisions the younger version of himself, Perry replied: “Well, it was Zac Efron, but he said no.” So, we have to find someone who will say yes.”
