Klelia Andriolatou: Answers about the verbal episode in the theater with the shipowner

--

An intense episode took place last Thursday 16/3 at the Theater of the New World, when the well-known shipowner Alexander – Konstantinos Vernikos during the performance “Butterflies in the stomach» he addressed the actors with insulting characterizations.

Despite what happened, the performance was not interrupted, while the actors continued the flow of the play as normal. A few hours later, the well-known ship owner, in a letter, apologized to the actors of the theater performance, after an out-of-court lawsuit had been filed on the part of the theater.

A few days after the said incident, the camera of the show “Our Breakfast” and the journalist, met some of the actors of the show, who spoke about the specific incident.

“Anyone who insults our art, the audience that has come to watch a show, and especially when freedom of speech and expression is limited, is something that has no place in our work, but in all of them in general,” he said initially the Clelia Andriolatou.

He continued: “We felt exposed and it was very unpleasant. When someone comments while you’re playing, it’s not appropriate. I didn’t understand what could be bothering this particular gentleman, but it’s none of my business. For me, it’s about being human and having beauty in our lives and love.”

“Forgiveness is of course a wonderful good, which means we accept it and move on. The extra-judicial was a move that the theater made to support us and it is very gratifying because it means that we have a body that is behind us and supports us”, concluded Klelia Andriolatou.

Dorothea Merkouri and Konstantinos Bibis spoke to the camera of the show, where they star in the show.
