Debtors have until July 19 to “close” their outstanding and unregulated debts in order not to lose the arrangements they have joined.

In this context, the debtors should pay off either the whole amount or in part any old debts, so that they can continue to pay off their new, settled debts.

In addition, a “problem” will also arise for the debtor in the event that he does not submit income or VAT returns on time, throughout the period of settling his debts and until they are paid, within three months at the latest from the expiry of the submission deadline or, if the submission deadline has passed by 19 April 2024, within three months of that date.

In detail, according to the relevant AADE circular, the debtor will not lose the arrangements:

  • in the event that a new overdue debt arises, as long as this new debt is paid in full or settled with a new arrangement of installments within three months from the expiry of its payment deadline,
  • in case of late submission of an income tax or VAT return, provided that this return is submitted within three months of the deadline for its submission.
