The Ministry of Labor is on a “reexamination” course in relation to points of convergence of group insurance policies (including private insurance companies) and Occupational Insurance Funds.
According to what he stated today (24.04.24), according to APE-MPE, the general secretary of Social Security of the Ministry of Labour, Nikos Milapidis, speaking at the event, on the topic of “challenges and prospects in supplementary insurance with the law 5078/2023 “, which was organized by the “Social Protection” Program of the Faculty of Law of the Greek University of Athens and the Union for the Protection of Social Rights (EPKODI, “we are on track to review other points of convergence of group insurance contracts and TEA, so that the protective provisions applicable to TEA can also be provided for insurance companies”.
Concluding his presentation, Mr. Milapidis underlined that the new law has reforming features, it aspires to build an institution and not to tear it down, it strengthens the complementarity between the pillars and ensures the organizational and operational adequacy of TEAs, providing sufficient and fair incentives for the development of professional insurance.
