The presence of the pathogenic microorganism listeria (Listeria monocytogenes) was found in a product of the company “G. PANAGIOTOPOULOS I. BAKATSIAS OE. FISH CULTURE” by the Food Hygiene Department of the Directorate of the Veterinary Center of Athens of the HYPAAT, following an investigation of a complaint submitted to the EFET.

As a result, the company recalled the following products as a precaution:

– “Smoked Karpenisi trout (fillet)”, with the trade name “fresco” and production date from 23.01.2024 to 10.04.2024 (expiration date from 22.05.2024 to 08.08.2024).

– “Smoked Marinated Trout of Karpenisi (fillet)”, with trade name “fresco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 09.04.2024 (expiration date from 21.08.2024 to 05.11.2024).

– “Smoked Trout of Karpenisi (whole)”, with trade name “fresco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 28.03.2024 (expiration date from 22.07.2024 to 24.09.2024).

The company also issued a notice to consumers which has been posted on its website.

EFET in collaboration with the Directorate of Agricultural Economy & Veterinary Medicine of the Regional Unit of Evrytania continue the checks and the company has been placed under surveillance

Consumers who have purchased the above products are asked not to consume them.
