The period of Holy Week and Easter brings changes in the operation of banks.

Freezing transactions in banks for six days brought by the Orthodox Easter and also the transfer of May Day.

Specifically, due to the Easter holiday and the transfer of the May Day holiday, debt payments and remittances which will be registered from Maundy Thursday, May 2, will be executed on Wednesday, May 8, which is considered the next business day.

The question now is how the salaries will be paid but also on occasion even the “Easter gift” for some businesses.

The transfers will run as normal, but with a value date of Wednesday, May 8. For the execution of payrolls Wednesday May 8th should be entered in the payroll file as the execution date.

The backdated and future orders with an execution date of Tuesday, May 7, will be executed on Wednesday, May 8. Also, the Stock Exchange Athens will be closed on Friday 3 May, Monday 6 May and Tuesday 7 May.
