THE Hellenic Food Control recalls packed smoked trout, as it has been shown to contain unsuitable micro-organisms.

In particular, after a complaint made to EFET, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism was established by the Food Hygiene Department of the Directorate of the Athens Veterinary Center of the PHAAT Listeria monocytogenes in a product of the company “C. PANAGIOTOPOULOS I. BAKATSIAS OE. FISH CULTURE”.

After that, the company recalled three of its products as a precaution and issued an update on its website:

“Smoked Trout of Karpenisi (fillet)”, with trade name “frésco” and production date from 23.01.2024 to 10.04.2024 (expiration date from 22.05.2024 to 08.08.2024).

“Smoked Marinated Karpenisi Trout (fillet)”with the trade name “frésco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 09.04.2024 (expiration date from 21.08.2024 to 05.11.2024).

“Smoked Trout of Karpenisi (whole)”, with trade name “fresco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 28.03.2024 (expiration date from 22.07.2024 to 24.09.2024).

Consumers who have purchased the specific products should not consume them.
