Tax Office: Unpaid taxes of 1.539 billion euros in the first two months of 2024 – Economic Post

At 1.539 billion The unpaid taxes in the first two months of 2024 amounted to 3,878,712 natural and legal persons.

According to AADE data, the total overdue debt amounts to 107.18 billion. euro. Of this debt, 26.3 billion euros are considered uncollectible with the actual overdue debt being limited to 80.85 billion. euro

According to the data, there are 3,878,712 taxpayers with debts to the tax office, while compulsory measures (confiscations) have already been taken for 1,5064,75.

In the same period, 968 million euros of overdue debts were collected.

The figures for the two months

According to AADE, for the 2nd month, the new maturity reached €1.736 billion, while last year in the same period it had reached €1.484 billion (an increase of 17%).

In terms of total “new maturity” added to our books, excluding the 10 non-tax categories:

For the reference month (February), the new maturity reached 956 million, while last year in the same period it had reached 930 million (an increase of 2.8%).

For the 2nd month, the new maturity reached €1.539 billion, while in the same period last year it had reached €1.331 billion (a decrease of 15.6%).

2.3. Collections against a new due date (except 10 MFC):

For the reference month (February) the total collections against new maturity (excluding 10 MFC) reached €199 million, while in the corresponding period of 2023 they reached €161 million (increase by 24%).

93% come from the following categories:

For the 2nd month, the total collections against new maturity (excluding 10 MFCs) reached €294 million, while in the same period in 2023 they had reached €223 million (a 32% increase).
