THE Mercedes-AMG presented the plug-in hybrid GT 63 SE Performance which contends the laurels for the company’s fastest model, approaching the levels of hyhpercars.
Under the hood, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine it produces 612 hpwhile the rear-mounted electric motor adds an additional 204 horsepower.
According to the company, the new model does 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, which makes it 0.1 seconds faster than the AMG One hypercar.
The power is distributed and on all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4Matic+ system and a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G gearbox.
Equipped with advanced features such as the AMG Active Ride Control suspension, ceramic brakes and eight drive modes, including Electric and Race, promise an exciting driving experience.
Despite the emphasis on electrified performance, the 6.1 kWh lithium-ion battery; it offers a moderate electric range of around 13 kilometers.
Visually, it shares similarities with other AMG GT modelsbut distinguished by the charging port and E Performance badge.
Inside, it offers luxury amenities such as electrically adjustable sports seats AMG and hybrid-specific displays in the MBUX infotainment system.
Regarding pricing and availability, details are expected to be announced closer to launch on the market, expected in the coming months.
