Electric vehicle hit a pillar, causing the battery to puncture and burn over time (Video)

The electric sedan accident happened at the intersection of Aleja Niepodległości and Antoniego Madalińskiego streets in Poland on the morning of April 19. According to reports, the driver in question successfully avoided colliding with another vehicle, but eventually ended up hitting a traffic pole in the middle of the intersection.

As a result, the Lucid apparently suffered a battery puncture, which led to a fire. A fire which was so big that I completely destroyed the expensive sedan and it took three fire engines in total to contain it.

The incident, combined with the time required to manage the electric vehicle fire, led to multiple bus and train delays. According to the Miejeski Reporter, the driver received medical attention, but luckily there are no signs of serious injuries.

As the threat of electric vehicle fires continues to be a problematic issue, the way firefighters deal with it could change. In response, firefighters are exploring new techniques to effectively extinguish such fires.
