A well-known influencer fell into the nets of the AADE (Independent Public Revenue Authority) for systematic tax evasion, according to what he said in an interview, on Wednesday, on “Parapolitikon” radio, the head of the Independent Authority, Giorgos Pitsilis himself.
“The market seems to have set up price lists according to how many followers each person has. This for us is information, which helps us to do – what we call – an indirect control technique” noted the president of AADE about the “tariffs” that apply in the social media area for any kind of promotion-sale of products and/or services .
When asked if the checks will be extended to other famous influencers, Mr. Pitsilis was content to reply that “just as we check other categories, we will check this one too”, confirming, however, that “there are already ongoing cases”.
“I don’t want us to focus on one category of taxpayers, the range is wide. This is a market that is becoming more visible and more regulated and now we are also getting a lot of information. For us, it is very important, in our controls, to go well-read. We have to get away from the model of ‘go out and whatever I find'”, he characteristically observed, to add: “When we knock on a door, we must know in advance which door we are knocking on and what we are going to find”.
