THE Christos Staikouras speaking to ANT1, he did not rule out paying a new one fuel pass however, explaining that at the moment there is no relevant decision while fuel prices have also fallen. Regarding the Power Pass he said that the payment, even for pending cases, will be made by Monday. In addition, he announced that an amendment submitted to the Parliament gives the right extension of the subsidy on heating oil and for 2023.
The Minister of Finance did not rule out additional measures support according to the needs but also with the budgetary margins, which he reiterated are not unlimited.
He also explained the dynamics of the economy which “has to do with the uncertainties of the future” as no one knows how the price of natural gas will evolve. He cited as an example that while a few days ago the TIF package was priced at 13.2 billion euros, “today when we updated it is 12.4 billion euros” he explained of which before 10.6 billion euros was the electricity package and now “it is 9.8 billion euros because within 10 days the price of natural gas has dropped too much” which is “an unknown factor”.
“Everything will be re-evaluated according to the dynamics” that will exist in the energy crisis and the possibilities that will exist, he explained.
For the possibility of further reducing the advance tax 80% for freelancers, he said that “we have no more room, given that we have to subsidize electricity for households and businesses”.
