For the 12th consecutive year, the Public Benefit Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects (K.I.K.P.E.) continues to support the Public and Municipal libraries of the country with the implementation of the Collection Development action carried out in collaboration with Future Library.
From 2012 to 2022, 76 Public and Municipal libraries of the Future Library Network have been strengthened with more than 50,000 new valuable publications.
In 2023, 20 Public and Municipal libraries, from various geographical regions, enriched their collections with 6,200 books from selected publishers. The process will be completed by the end of March 2024. Among these 20 libraries is the Municipal Library of Preveza “Gymnasiarchis Chr. Kontos” where for the 2nd time it will receive the donation of books from KIKPE to enrich its collections.
Since its foundation, Future Library has supported Public and Municipal libraries in every way, strengthening them in the provision of knowledge and information, through access to computers and further encouraging socialization and communication between those who use the services of these libraries . In 2023, at our request, K.E.D.E. approved for the first time in its history, the enrichment of the collections of 10 Municipal Libraries. We aim to cooperate with K.E.D.E. for the continuation of the support of Municipal Libraries.

Some information about the foundation K.I.K.P.E
The Public Beneficial Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects (K.I.K.P.E.) was founded and has been operating in Athens since 1988. Its goals are to offer social work by supporting agencies that care for sensitive groups of the population, the implementation of cultural actions, mainly through the utilization of the collections and archives in its possession (Numetic Collection/Collection of Banknotes, Archive of letters of Io. Kapodistrias/Al. Kontostavlou etc.), the enrichment of Public and Municipal libraries in collaboration with the FL as well as the creation of school libraries and libraries housed in institutions that host children and adolescents. It systematically supports long-term actions in the educational sector, with the organization of seminars for secondary school teachers and students as well as the organization of educational lectures addressed, in addition to teachers, to the general public. The KIKPE publishes a series of studies resulting from the rich material of its collections but also supports financially important publications of university institutions and research and cultural bodies.
