With the support of the Peloponnese Region, the 9th was hosted in Mystraso International Olive Oil Competition “Athena International Olive Oil Compemon» (ATHENA IOOCApril 25-27).

The promotion of Peloponnese olive oils was crowned with complete success, with the Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos speaking, on the third day of the competition, about the comparative advantages of our Region and the quality characteristics that make our products special.

Greece is today one of the largest olive-producing powers in the world, with the olive spreading almost throughout the length and breadth of the Peloponnese, while in Laconia, centered on Sparta, it occupies 65% of its arable land.

The ATHENA IOC competition was also attended by the District Governor P.E. Laconia, Theodoros Veroutis, who congratulated the organizers of the competition, while declaring that he was happy that for three days Sparta and Mystras became the center of olive oil for Greece and the world.

The unique international competition that is held in our country saw a large participation and aims to consolidate Greece as a recognized evaluation center.
